Laughter Yoga for schools
In search of a fun, group activity for your students? An exercise program that engages the body, the mind and the spirit? An activity that promotes joy and laughter in order to increase students' physical and emotional wellbeing ?
Today's children face a lot of challenges, like stress, technology ubiquity, academic pressures, low self-esteem, to name a few.
They are struggling to make make meaningful connections away from their devices. And it seems that the only connections they make is through video games and "likes" on social media platforms.
They are not encouraged to go outside of the home and make connections for fear of the unknown. This is robbing them of precious in person interactions. A Laugh 2B Well session, is the remedy to bring more joy and laughter into your schools. To get children to play again!
Laughter Yoga is fun. It involves deep breathing exercises, clapping and chanting, brain gym exercises, light stretches and childlike playfulness.
The benefits they get from laughter are that it helps them cope with stress, it develops their emotional intelligence, it encourages their creativity by engaging in playful activities, it makes them feel good and increase their self-esteem.
It is a unique practice that combines deep breathing exercises with laughter.
It lifts your mood within minutes, helps you connect with others, flushes the lungs and invigorates your body and brain.
Typical School Session:
The session starts with clapping and chanting, gentle breathing exercises, coupled with easy stretching exercises.
All exercises can be performed standing up or sitting down.
A 15-minute Laughter Yoga session releases endorphins which helps control pain for about 2 hours.
We also use music, dancing and relaxation activities.
